Storage Agreement
STORAGE
As long as all fees are paid up to date, the Storer:
a) is licensed to store Goods in the Unit allocated by Self Storage Hartlepool and only in that Unit;
b) is deemed to have knowledge of the Goods in the Unit;
c) warrants that they are the owner of the Goods or legally entitled to store them.
Self Storage Hartlepool:
a) does not have and will not be deemed to have knowledge of the Goods;
b) is not a bailee, custodian, or warehouseman of the Goods;
c) does not grant any lease or tenancy of the Unit.
COST
The Storer must pay the deposit amount of a minimum of 8 weeks in advance upon signing the agreement. The deposit (or the balance after any deductions for unpaid fees, repairs, or cleaning) will be refunded within 21 days after termination.
The Storer is responsible for paying:
a) The storage fee in advance on the first day of each storage period. It is the Storer’s responsibility to ensure payments are made on time. Self Storage Hartlepool does not bill for fees.
b) Cleaning fees charged on an ad hoc basis.
c) Late payment fees of £6 per week for overdue payments.
d) Additional charges, such as £50 if keys are lost and assistance is needed to access the Unit.
e) Any costs incurred for collecting unpaid fees or enforcing this agreement, including debt collection and legal fees.
f) All applicable taxes.
DEFAULT – RIGHT TO SELL OR DISPOSE OF GOODS
Self Storage Hartlepool takes prompt payment seriously and has a right of lien. If any sum is overdue, the Storer authorizes Self Storage Hartlepool to:
a) Deny access to the Unit until the debt is cleared.
b) Enter and inspect or relocate the Goods and charge for any associated costs.
c) Apply the deposit against the debt. If unpaid for over 2 weeks, items may be disposed of, and charges passed to a debt collection agency.
On termination of the agreement, if the Storer fails to remove all Goods, Self Storage Hartlepool may dispose of them.
Self Storage Hartlepool may sell or dispose of the Goods if necessary, without further notice.
ACCESS
The Storer has the right to access the Unit during posted access hours.
Self Storage Hartlepool may refuse access if there are overdue fees or for security concerns.
The Storer must provide their own secure padlock for the Unit.
INSURANCE
The Storer is required to arrange their own storage insurance. Self Storage Hartlepool does not insure stored Goods.
NOTICE
All notices must be given in writing. Self Storage Hartlepool may send notices via email or SMS if consented to by the Storer.
TERMINATION
Either party may terminate the agreement by giving notice according to the specified period. If illegal or harmful activities occur or if the Storer breaches the agreement, Self Storage Hartlepool may terminate immediately.
LIABILITY
Self Storage Hartlepool is not liable for any loss or damage to Goods unless caused by negligence, limited to £100. The Storer stores Goods at their own risk.
